I am brand new to using NetSuite as a CRM. How would you designate someone as part of a list? For example - 2019 VIP invites; Competition Host; 2020 Volunteer. These are not affiliated with cash transactions in any way. Thanks!

Have you tried creating Groups either static or dynamic based on specific criteria such as 2020 Volunteer? Go to Lists > Relationships > Groups > New. You can then determine if you need a static list or dynamic, after that select the type of entity and go from there. I hope this is what you’re looking for.

@CJ Rubalcava thank you. Groups seems to work well, but I would like to see the Groups a Customer is in on their record. I don’t think Groups are available like that. @C_Billings I am trying to think this through…what would be the benefit of a CRM List over just a regular multi-select field? Thanks!

I am thinking out loud now…I have been reading about Custom Record Types this morning. I wonder if I could create a “Participation” record type and include fields for group name, etc. This would allow me to store various activities the Customer has with the organization that are not Transaction based.
