I’ve gone about as far as I can with my current ChatGPT/Codex and VS Code workflows. Been baby-stepping my way into agentic development with great results. I’m ready to let Codex work more directly inside NetSuite. Read records, maybe create objects, deploy scripts, test, troubleshoot, and iterate a bit on its own. I’ve been connecting my chats with MCP and the NetSuite AI Connector. No success yet with connecting my codex in vs code with an MCP server directly inside codex. Anyone doing this successfully with Codex or Claude Code? Curious what your setup looks like and how much autonomy you’ve actually achieved.

We're building something in this direction. It's working for QB, and next up on the roadmap is NetSuite. We're building SQL-via-MCP so that Claude/Codex can query NetSuite replicated data via SQL. Response times should be lightning fast, so AI can write a bunch of different queries in seconds trying to get the data it needs. This would be read only for a few years as, frankly, I don't want the liability of writing to NetSuite until we have several layers of controls in place. Too many horror stories about AI aggressively writing (more in the QB space for novice users, but still, scary)
