We want to make one of our roles able to view cross-subsidiary Items, but enabling that option doesn't allow users of that role to access the Items:
Role checkbox [] "Allow Cross-Subsidiary Record Viewing"
If this checkbox is not enough to make them able to access the Items, what else should I do?

Is there also other restirctions on the role, like department or location restrictions?

No, but the Subsidiary field help says that in order to add an item to a transaction, the item has to be associated to the transaction's subsidiary. So I think we can't do what the user is asking.

The thing is, we're not just a B2B company, we're a B2B2B/C company.
It sounds like we can't shortcut through this, we would have to follow the full path of purchasing and fulfilling for one subsidiary, and selling to another, to make it make sense to NetSuite. Am I correct?

You can enable Intercompany cross subsidiary fulfillment which allows you to select subsidiaries and locations for each line of a sales order. So you can create a sales order in 1 subsidiary but ship it from a different subsidiary. Is that what you need?

Maybe that could work. It looks like we already have it enabled, too.
I'll run it by the users and see if that meets their needs.
