Hello Everyone Any Netsuite Admins / Dev People know the best way for seeing history changes to components on Lot numbered Assembly/BOM records? We have a eng team that likes to go rouge and make changes without alerting groups, so most of the time, the planning team will schedule something to a line and then have to re-work it because the qty to a component has been changed or the a line item component has been removed.

BOM revision has system notes, it’s not captured in that?
c
So I just checked. I don’t think they have that feature enabled. What happens if I enable it?
s
system will create the bom rev not sure if it will have system information, but it will capture going forward
c
Does it effect the way we handle changes now?
s
it shouldn't and i believe NS Stopped support for legacy BOM 22.2. or 23.1, so they force you to use advanced BOM which this one is

Sorry for all the questions. If we don’t enable it, will there be another creative way to look at changes via system notes or something?
s
System notes only shows up on bom revision, you might be able to see on item record system notes but not all movements are captured
You might be able to do something via script but that would be pricey, BOM Rev would be easiest and cheapest and quickest in my opinion

Go to ‘Setup Manager’ and in the search box type in ‘Advanced Bill Of Materials’ and confirm if the feature is enabled or not. If it is enabled you will want to go through a BOM revision saved search and then the System Notes. Or you could try a System Notes saved search and filter on the Record Type: BOM Revision | Type: Change.
