Hi all, I'm setting up a few units of measure and I keep getting this error. Any idea why this happens?
k
Did you copy UOMs from sandbox to production via bundle?
k
No I'm adding them manually
Does NetSuite have limitations to the magnitude of these measures?
k
Right - but did you ever - in the history of your account - d copy them over from sandbox?
None that I'm aware - but I'd certainly express caution around getting too creative.
how many layers are you using?
k
This is a new account, so I don't thinks these have ever been copied
I noticed the error in just one type name that has magnitudes going to 10e12 of the base measurement
Sorry but what's layers? lol
Like how many units in a type?
k
I wouldn't use scientific notation.
I'd expect all kinds of crazy stuff
k
I didn't. I just wrote that for ease of writing
Yeah same. Should I call support? Would that be a better approach?
k
Probably.
k
Alright, thanks. I'll note that.
k
a UOM Type that has more than 5 or 10 units that can be picked within it is going to be error prone by users.
do you really have something that has that large of a magnitude? NS stores everything in base units - and there are limits to the integer size in the database... I'd be concerned around creating errors.
k
This type only has four
Maybe I can suggest to offset the base?
This is mass and the base is kg, if we offset it to mg as base, then maybe that will work
k
I'd probably consider using your base as Grams - and then do 1/1000 for MG and 1000 for KG. (or whatever that math works out to be.
Though - I'd probably try for a solution not using UOM schedules in that case if I could avoid it -
That said, I dimly recall having set up a mass conversion previously with no issues.
k
Makes sense. I'll consult with my team.
Big thanks man
k
It's also plausible there's some kind of defect currently.
