We were looking at possibly using item groups to translate inbound "bundles" from our ecommerce site but found that item groups only support a list of items. They do not allow for custom pricing of the components which is kind of the purpose behind a "bundle" on a website...to get more for a little less overall cost. I can see that you can add discount items to reduce the cost of individual items but then we would have to create a great many to account for large or small fixed dollar or % off. Also, it would be good to have customer part numbers and customer pricelists apply to item groups. But neither of those features apply to item groups. Does anyone know of another way to do what I am trying to do or of any add-on NetSuite bundle that may improve the support of item groups? Thanks

Item Kits would be more like what your looking for.

Item kits don't track the components separately in the general ledger. Finance don't like that.
And it looks like kits let you use price lists but you still cannot modify the component prices or set customer part numbers, etc

you can over ride the component prices in a item group. might take a script or something.

How do you overrided the price of a group item member when there is no rate field in the member sublist of the group item. Nothing to overwrite... { • "type": "itemgroup", • "id": "2880", • + • "fields": { … }, • + • "fieldnames": [ … ], • + • "lineitems": { … }, • + • "linetypes": { … }, • - • "linefields": { • - • "member": [ ▪︎ "linenumber", ▪︎ "memberkey", ▪︎ "item", ▪︎ "memberdescr", ▪︎ "weight", ▪︎ "sitemtype", ▪︎ "sitemsubtype", ▪︎ "quantity", ▪︎ "memberunit", ▪︎ "taxschedule" ◦ ] • }, • "matrixfields": { }, • "currentlineitems": { }, • "currentlineitemindexes": { }, • "initialized": true, • + • "operations": [ … ] }
I guess you could do it after sales order creation but then you need a separate custom table to store the values.

can your ecommerce site pass the pricing to the sales order?
s
When I said "our ecommerce site" that was not all of our order sources. We need this also for a large number of wholesale dropship customers. We may have an agreed bundle price for a wholesale customer and we need to be able to have appropriate pricing on item group components based on the customer pricelist.
I can see the "member" sublist in the record browser... https://www.netsuite.com/help/helpcenter/en_US/srbrowser/Browser2016_2/script/record/itemgroup.html But I cannot figure out how to add fields to it. I may end up having to create my own record set and do all of this in a workflow... That would be a pain.

It would probably be easier to just post the order into NetSuite with the components only as separate inventory items You would however need to split the price between the inventory items. So the inventory items would need to have custom price levels
