Is it possible to create system notes for a custom record with dates in the past? I want to migrate change history from another system. Ideally I'd create them with SuiteTalk but I could cope with SuiteScript if SuiteTalk isn't possible.
s
I don't believe you can create or modify system notes manually.
k
interesting request - what's the use case? @cja
c
I want to migrate change history from another system.
We are importing asset records from another system to NS. That system records change history, as NS does with system notes. I want all change history in one system otherwise reporting will be difficult.
s
Best you can probably do is create a custom record with similar fields and import the history to that
c
Then it's all in NS but I still have to report from two places (record types). I doubt there's a better solution but it's going to cause problems
k
the depreciation history record isn't enough?
i wonder if that is maybe what you might want to use instead of trying to find a way to shove sys notes records into netsuite
c
I said "assets", but they are going into a custom record, as I mentioned in my original question. Depreciation History is irrelevant
And my program would insert carefully, not shove :)
k
didn't mean to offend you - i didn't read so specifically into your original statement
c
I didn't take offence - I was clarifying for fun
