Is the item you need to change just specific to these sales orders? Potentially you could just change the item record to reflect the correct item and amend the other item the opposite way?

My consultant got it figured out for us, we were able to replace the part. It had to go from an assembly to a kit, so I couldn't just change numbers.

basically, our legacy system had another level between the item number and the SKU called "product" they didn't have to be the same, and that caused us some issues that I didn't foresee. (Because I never thought to ask, I assumed they would be the same)
