Does anyone else here work for an end user?

s
Yup, admin for an end-user here.
m
Yes, I worked for an end user for 5 years and starting at another one next month
l
same here
c
Do you all mind if i ask what your starting salary was with no certs no experience for an end user and your company size?
l
It depends on so many factors but happy to share
c
Please do
l
Some people expect someone with no experience to be 75, this assumes no accounting background either
as a starter with an accounting background and a partial implementation under the belt, you are looking at 85
so it depends on other things too such as what about experience in programming
etc
c
That's a lot more than i make now lol
my 90 day evalutation is supposed to be tomorrow
l
I can dm on my salary info btw. My market worth right now is 150K at a consulting spot
i’ll DM you
s
Depends heavily on localization too. If you live in a HCOL area, salary will fluctuate. I started at 90 but live in California.

l
ohhh true dat!!! Localization plays a huge role!
m
Have you had a look at the Anderson Frank salary survey? I personally sent the report to a number of people in my area that are at a similar level to me and they all agreed it was pretty accurate
l
yeah that report made me sad…..it seems like the field is getting enough folks in it now…
c
The report made you sad?
m
I had suspected that the numbers would be inflated considering they are trying to convince people to move jobs but it doesn't seem to be the case

I've never made over 40k in a year. If I made the salary ranges I saw in that for Austin, Tx (closest locality to me, I'm in Houston), I would be on cloud nine.
s
Why not just get your cert and jump ship to consulting. You'd make triple.
c
I'm studying for SuiteFoundation cert now.
l
yeah dude u are underpaid --- but it depends on what u have been doing too. Like I have no idea what things you have done for your company - were you hired before the implementation or after the implementation? Also, what @sean said!
I’m studying for it too!!! :)
c
implementation is ongoing.
I've been playing a role in the implementation for 3 months. I was so f^&*ing lost in the beginning
I'm 3 classes from finsihing my BS in Information Systems and I have a couple years of help desk experience along with Net+ and A+
Been doing this for 3 months now. I don't feel as lost but I am definitely realizing just how little I know about this system because it's HUUUUUUUUUGE
As far as accounting goes - I've just taken a couple accounting classes lol
s
Look negotiating salary is all about providing value to the company. You need to outline the value you have during your review and negotiate from there. Baselines aside.
c
boss man keeps saying "good job" and "I hired the right person".. so, lol
l
also depends on company culture
c
No one here is particularly well paid tbh lol
s
Sounds like its time to leave then. The best negotiation tactic, is none at all. Having a competing offer puts the ball in your court.

@sean has said it better than I have ever said! Thank you @sean!!!
s
Hey, we're all here to support each other right?

It seems that there are a lot of external consultants on Netsuite. I was hired as the IT manager for our company, then the NS project manager left during the development, and I was delegated his functions...
c
@LRG I'm supposed to be the IT Manager, System administrator, NetSuite administrator...
l
How long has Netsuite been used in your org ?
m
How big is your company (number employees)? I was everything IT at my old place, we grew to 40 users and I was doing three people's jobs.
