Scenario: create saved search in Production and use as a Custom Center Link. Bundle the Center Category containing that link and download into a sandbox. My URL is fixed with the Production URL and not updating to the SB ID.
k
Are you looking for ideas on how to make that not an issue? I don't think there is a way.
c
I'm wondering if i have stumbled into a defect
k
have you considered making your URL with the double "\" effect without everything proceeding the app.netsuite.com portion.
c
Havent tried that...
Doesnt work
k
I think it was @michoel who pointed me at that, or maybe @battk for creating non account specific links that can be deployed in multiple places, but I don't remember exact method
c
hopefully someone chimes in...otherwise I'll have to download the bundle and then update the center links each round...better than recreating the reports each time though
b
are you selecting the saved search from the Center Category, or are you creating a center link and selecting the center link from the center category
c
I have a center category named XXX. within it are 5 saved searches a1-a5, all of the saved searches are used as center links since i cannot put them in the center category without doing so...
should i be attempting a center category and not adding the saved searches to the bundle?
k
It seems like this would be something that'd have to be handled in a deployment script to get it to always populate the correct links
c
whats odd is bundling a pile of searches doesnt have this problem
b
are you creating a custom center link for you saved searches: https://system.netsuite.com/app/common/custom/custtasks.nl?whence=
c
Yes
Is there another method for creating the category and using your searches?
b
public saved search can be selected as a value in the center category
c
hmmm. maybe thats the issue.
b
you can also probably do what i did with that last link, use a data center specific url
netsuite will fix the domain for you
c
so I'm thinking now that I see Ieft my reports as Private it may be the culprit
k
That's a good idea too
That said - the link would struggle in the bundle for saved searches because they use the internal ID of the search and you can't guarantee the search internal ID doesn't exist in target account
c
which is exactly one of the issues I encountered
Problem Solved. It was the non public searches and being an idiot using hard coded links
