Hello - Does anyone know how to unmatch bank data ? Is this even possible? We have an account that has been running this process automatically and we want to disable it but also unmatch it

@Karina is my expert on this

haha, thank you, @C_Billings 🙂. @JC, yes, you can unmatch bank data, should not be complex. If the account comes via bank feeds or any similar tool, just remove it from the list
j
Someone is manually uploading bank information and then the system is automatically matching, which is what they don't want.
you mention remove from the list? As in remove from Bank Matching ?
k
the “list” referred to accounts in Financial Institution set up with bankfeeds or ABSI. If this is manual, why won’t you stop the individual who uploads the statements from doing so? Seems to be people issue, not the system thing
j
I agree - I'm not too familiar with this process but essentially they are uploading these bank files and then they want to manually match transactions.
I've asked if disabling this process would help. Chart of Accounts record has a checkbox to exclude the account from Bank Matching but they don't want to do that
I'm really confused
k
you and I both! LOL
they do not want to change anything except they want you to “disable” stuff after they do what they do
j
LOL
right
k
sounds like they need a consultant charging them $$$ for advice of not uploading bank statements in the first place. Sign me up! 🙂
j
I'll quit and come back as consultant with you then

in a couple of years that will be at our (well, somebody’s, for sure) door step asking for NetSuite re-implementation because it did not work for them last time around
If I only had a dollar for each of those cases …. I would be sunbathing in HI right now LOL
thank you, @JC, you made my Friday - happy Friday to you too!

I'd own the same yatch as Bezos at this point

Glad to be the entertainment. Happy friday!

There is a bank matching flag (checkbox) on the GL account. Not sure if unchecking that would help 🤷🏼‍♀️

If it automatically is making matches, then you probably have the very lenient auto-match rules enabled. First disable the 3(?) rules that are added automatically. All automatically made matches are in the “review” tab on the “match bank data” page. Unless someone has submitted the automatic matches already. If they have submitted it but haven't reconciled the account, the match should be visible on the reconcile account page where you can unmatch it. If the have reconciled the account, you need to delete the reconciliation first.

I think you can only delete the latest reconciliation. So if the mismatch is a couple of recons ago, you need the delete them all.
