We use a custom record, that we check with a script, to see if we need to generate an SO from the contained details. When an SO is generated it is logged in the custom record. Search Question: -- I am trying to search for the SOs created by these custom records in the last month. The custom record is easy enough to do a search on, it can be used as a "type" of search. But it doesn't seem to appear as a related record in any other context or "basic" NetSuite record. Getting SOs from the last month is also equally easy. Getting Customers that have ordered in the last month is also simple. But I can't quite put my finger on how to tie them all together in to a single "report" that I can do some basic tally checks on. I'm open to suggestions about how to either do this as a single search or how to mix two or more searches to accomplish this.

setup the custom record to have a parent/child relationship by setting the sales order on a select field on your custom record that has the
Record is Parent
checkbox marked
that will allow your custom record to be a join for your sales order search
you can also go the opposite direction and set your custom record on a select field on the sales order

Is this a setting on the record? I've not seen the
Record as Parent
before.
step 2 is where you are at

Thank you for the link
When I look at the custom record, it looks like it already is setup with parent/child relationships ... so I must not be accessing the
join
correctly.

outside of the obvious look at the join list extra hard
try creating a new field with the parent properly setup
ive head that it works strangely if you set it later
