in this particular case, i have a number of checkbox fields, all of which work for adding as a filter and show in the filter region except for one field. It is set up the same way and is displaying "Normal"

weird stuff like this has happened to me before w/ available filters - have you tried recreating the search anew or does the problem persist then too?

also if the problematic field was created same-day, it could be a cacheing issue

sometimes i come back the next day and everything works fine, or you could try a different browser to see if that helps (not sure where NS does its cacheing for those fields)

So strange. I came back today and the checkbox field was available, but not the subsidiary field. Thanks for the help!

I've had this happen before. Create a custom field, add it to a form, create a saved search, try to add the custom field to a formula in a saved search and the field is not available in the formula builder, it is not available as a filter either. I have found that manually typing the field id into a formula field does work even if the field is not yet available in the dropdown.
