Whenever i create a Work Order for a finished good...

Whenever i create a Work Order for a finished good item (lot numbered BOM) it goes thru and manufactures the item, but then when I put on sales order, it says back ordered.

Do you use inventory management on your sales orders? i.e. Do you have to select which lot number you want to use on the Sales Order?

that would be on the fulfillment side right

i can select the inv detail on the SO
and it shows the quantity in the lot as well
from when I manf.
But when saved, it goes to BO

Hmm. Could the whole lot be committed to other Sales Orders?

Well maybe but I created other lots when manf.
so i started with a fresh lot each time i tried to add to SO
I do not think its committing at all
i do have location on the SO line level
but its still not committing at SO level
line and header

Are your Work Orders / Assemblies using the same location as the Sales Order?

let me redo a SO

If the assembly is marked as special order, NetSuite will create a new Work Order for that line on the Sales Order and that EXACT work order needs to be built in order for that line to be committed. Even if you do a stand alone Work Order for 1,000,000,000 of that item, it will NOT commit until the linked Work Order is built

i just recreated one that is not
i modified the last one
checking to see if i could resolve
anyways - i just made a new 1
and i can allocate items for this new 1
again, the lot had 2 quantity i built into
same sub, location, etc.
created SO - says BO
under allocate items, i can allocate to that SO
but why is this - i manf in that location the specific finished good - it shows 2 in that location - i made 2, yes
but still BO on SO

On the work order that was built - was it linked to a Sales Order?

If you look at the assembly record, what does your On Hand , Available, Committed and On Order shows?
(for the location you're working with)

okay looks like its starting at the WO
when i use my inv item as component
when I save the WO, it shows BO
for that inv item
tho i have 98 in stock for the lcoation
