We changed an item from a regular item to a kit to better reflect reality, is there an easy way to update historical transactions with the new item swapped out?

In addition to Kevin's response, I'll add my 2 cents worth. We actually did this very thing a couple months ago. We almost tried the retroactive approach, then we realized it would also wreak havoc with the inventory of the kit item components. Too much of a pain.
