bank account can have only one currency and one subsidiary. this is is system limitations/setup. You can have multiple bank accounts per subsidiary and different currency for each bank account (or the same). It makes sense if you think of it since bank accounts in different countries have different numbers, even if they are all within, say, Citibank. If you however have one bank account for multiple subsidiaries it is necessary to create multiple GL accounts if bank/cash type.
