Hey guys, anyone know if it is possible (without suitescript) to have a saved search value returned into a custom transaction line field?

this cannot happen. There would be no key field to match the results too. You could do it to the header or to the item record itself but not to a line item. you could do this via script though. Workflow will work at the line level for STANDARD transactions I believe.
