I have created a sales order search to reflect open sales orders. Over all the search is working great but I am getting duplicate PO #’s. How do I eliminate the search from showing duplicate PO #’s? I have tried grouping them in the search summary type.

You've just got an extra column spilling over so it's displaying an extra line. Remove the column or ungroup it
