field from being mandatory on this form, but it's grayed out. What leads to the behavior where I can't remove something from being mandatory?

well, you must have an entity for a transaction. if you do not want to display it create a workflow

ya im an idiot. I didnt realize that was tracking to entity and was caught up with "Project"
