Why does the
System
automatically recalculate the G/L impact on an Item Fulfillment record about 5 minutes after the record is created? Also, why would it use a zero value for the COGS on Kit Items?

Tough question to give an accurate answer to. Could be that the IF is back dated and so NS then goes through all related transactions for those items and recalculates the GL impact, including the IF you just created. Perhaps another transaction was created afterwards within those 5 minutes but back dated?
As for a zero value, perhaps NS is thinking you bought/increased inventory for $0 whenever those items were put in stock... you'll probably want to go through the transaction history of that item to see what's up.

Thank you, @Anthony Dixon. I searched on this for a long time. What I eventually landed on (I think) was that the item had negative inventory at the time the fulfillment was created. In this scenario, because of the negative on hand number, the G/L impact for those lines is just blank, which is kinda surprising.

What type of costing is used on that item? FIFO or average cost?
