Anyone know how I can bring in the revenue recognition to the customer invoice? Is it something I can just turn on> ? Or is it a custom field list along with custom start and end date?
k
do you mean you want to show your customer how you recognize revenue? Revenue Plan and all? or you are just talking about your item dates?
k
It will be very similar to the Prepaid Amortization on the Vendor Bill side
Essenstial when we send an invoice to our customer, we want to recoginize the revenue on the Accounting side
so its not for the customer but for our Accounting practice

are you using Sales Order or just the invoice? In any event you need to have ARM to recognize revenue over the period of time - do you have this functionality? then on your SO/Invoice you would indicate your period (start date/end date). Then you need to update Revenue Arrangements and verify that Revenue element is the same info your SO/Invoice (it does, but still). Then you update revenue plans then you run your JEs (they will look like Amortization schedule).

@Karina You are correct, on the invoice we have the ARM Start and End Date
but there not way for me to select the scedule, to select Straight line by days, or even, etc
So I was wondering, is there an easy way for me to pull in the schedule? Or is it a customize field/ item
cause on my vendor invoice, there a way for me to select the account for prepaid amortization

your rev rec schedule does not come from the invoice. you create your rev rec rule first, then you add it to the item you are going to bill and that’s all. then on the SO/invoice you add your item, and rev rec rules get “engaged”. (plus you add dates of course) You can see it all then on Revenue Element - rev rec rule, date, amount, allocations, all that
k
@Karina Ok thanks, I will try it

It seems you are not much familiar with ARM. I would be VERY cautious setting up rev rec rules. when you get to Rev Rec Rules screen click on Help and read through what each field means and what your choices are. Not a light reading. I suggest you get your accountants involved if you are one or another person who makes business decisions on how revenue should be recognized in your company
