Howdy HiveMind. Anyone have experience with a OneWorld account supporting a fully functional, transactional detail-level entity in India? If so I have a few questions for you.

What questions you’ve ?

Ask away. Someone will answer if they know. I will if I do.

Thanks folks. A handful of initial questions that we’re also asking netsuite directly but...well you know how it goes sometimes.... 1 - Are there companies in the financial services or business services sectors successfully using NetSuite for India accounting? 2 - Are there specific limitations to what modules are able to be used for India? 3 - On the website Oracle/NetSuite lists tax as being handled by “Partner”. Can tax for India only be implemented by a partner? 4 - Limitations that using NetSuite for India might put on our other subsidiaries? Ex. If we set up a partner to do India tax does that change what we can or can’t do with Avid, Avalara or other tools in other subsidiaries? 5 - Any other useful information that could give us a quick reason to EXCLUDE NetSuite as our India solution? Ex. If it is known that it is unable to provide A/P in compliance with India regulations and that made most companies choose another application.

That's quite a lot to gather, I don't think there is any bundle for Taxes in India, but that won't change anything that Avalara/Avid does, provided you set it up correctly. You can go on setting up the tax yourself but I would recommend you take help of someone who knows GST and the ins and out of Indian taxes. Probably some sort of accountant with knowledge of ERP. I think I know one Japanese (not sure though) firm who uses NS and has some import/export set up with Indian taxes because their products are probably manufactured in India.
