So i have a big list of subassemblies that are now being outsourced so WOs are no longer needed. What would be the best way to have it such that these sub-assemblies do no generate WO demand? Im thinking to change them all to Item Records but that would require a pretty hefty export/import. Is there a better way?

Also theres a setting that allows purchase of assembled items. I cant remember exactly where it is located but I'll take a look for you if you struggle to find it.

You will also want to look at the setting at the item location to change the source from Build to Purchase for demand planning -

Setting the Assembly records Reorder Supply Type to "Purchase" still seems to drive Production demand...

Did you also select "allow purchase of assembly items" under accounting preferences>Order Management>Purchasing?

I have. It seems like it generates demand on both production floor as well as purchasing. Doesnt seem like its exclusive
