Is there a way (workflow/Script) to set the rate amount, of a discount line item on a sales order, from a custom field that is on the same form?

This could be scripted - but why?

We sell golf cars, and when someone is trading in we create an opportunity. Once thats completed we add the OPP# on the sales over and it brings over all of the information including the Offer $ amount we gave to the customer. Currently the discount is auto generated as a line item, but I cant figure out how to set the price to the "Offer to customer" field

This is probably a bit more than can be solved for over a couple of messages - it sounds like you've got something in play already that would need to be tweaked

No worries. I have a workflow to add the discount line item if the Offer to customer has a value. Its just the rate field on the discount line I can seem to figure out

You cannot set the rate field in a workflow you can only set the amount Can you use the amount instead of rate?

Yes I should be able to use amount instead of rate
