Hi all. I always get complaints on how slow Netsuite is. I am trying to work out if its the scripts or workflows that are affecting it. I have never used any other NetSuite account other than ours so have no baselines to compare it to. One thing I have looked at is performance health and there is a performance issue showing. 12.98s (70%) of the time is taken by Network is this normal or should I raise a support ticket?

I'm not super familiar with the APM data, but yours doesn't seem quite right. Here's mine for comparison:
Oh, realized mines on Edit operation. I don't have a performance issue flagged to look at for Sales Order - Save

There's not much NetSuite can do about network delays. This is something between their server and your location. There should be a link on the right say "Investigate" that may be able to provide even better insight.
If it still says network there, you may want to work with your IT team to help track it down or monitor network traffic and trace routes

@Rich Keller is probably correct in saying this appears to be an issue with your network connection - but if the report includes web orders, or a similar context where payment is captured during the save, it could also be the time taken to send data back and forth to the payment provider. We use Cybersource and see a similar network latency issue on deposit creation due to the data transfer back and forth.
A simple ping to your Netsuite account URL should make things clearer. I'm seeing 7-8ms on our account and my connection's not the fastest.

Thanks for the response. I have sub 8-10ms pings. Looking at the performance details when loading a SO I get the following stats. The server is the biggest delay?

The server suite script is suspiciously slow in that example. Our account is heavily customised and has 4 beforeLoad scripts on SOs, but still manages sub 1 second server suitescript and 3 second page load in edit mode. I'd be looking in Customization > Scripting > Scripted records to see what's attached, especially beforeLoads and client page init functions

I've had issues when embedding an image from an external server

No, I meant the one showing the performance issues graph.

Correct, I've used an inline html to add a image (coming from an external source) and when that was slow the whole page was slowed down
