Hi Guys, I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with this. I'm updating the record using record.submitFields but somehow UserEvent is not triggering for that record. any idea?

What type of script are you updating the record in? Does the UE deployment have an Event Type set? Also keep in mind that old/new record looks different for regular edits vs xedits (the latter only includes the changed fields)

if you are on a record and after submit you try to fire the related user-events deployed to this record. that's not possible
