Is there any sort of protocol or guidance for using External ID's when multiple integrations are being provided by different outside developers? Previously, we have handled cross-referencing various data shared between integrated applications/services outside of NetSuite. We are tempted to switch and use the ones that are available inside NetSuite as we convert to using the REST API, because access seems nicely integrated and convenient. However, what if another vendor integrates with the same record (e.g. Customer) and inserts their external ID in the NS External ID field? Seems we could end up interfering with each other's integration.
