I feel like someone had asked this recently, but cannot find in channel history, getting this error when trying to add new account authentication: "The authentication process failed. The server returned an error or could not respond. Review your authentication details and try again. Error details: Invalid login attempt." does anyone have any insight/solution? seems like relevant features (tba, sdf) are enabled, and trying through Developer Role thanks
a
Are you getting this while saving a token?
Which tool are you using?
d
yes, I try to authenticate via Browser which appears successful (I am able to login, select desired Role, and then redirects to landing page with message "The authentication process will continue in your SuiteCloud SDK application. Close this window and go to your application to check the progress of the process.") But then I get the overall Error message when returning to command line
@Ali Syed (NS DevTools QA) I have tried via all tools 😅 SDF CLI Node & Java and WebStorm plugin I have confirmed able to authenticate successfully to another account, so appears to be something in particular with the one erroring out
a
OS? There is also a feature in enable company features. OAuth 2 Try enabling that
d
Windows I just tried enabling that OAuth2.0 Feature, same error
a
I am assuming you have the latest
2020.2.0
versions of the tools?
d
yes @Ali Syed (NS DevTools QA) regarding SDF Setup HelpCenter article "Assigning the Developer Role *(Admin Only)*" is that to be taken very literally? i.e. does the Developer Role need to be assigned to my Employee Access by explicitly someone functioning as an Administrator Role? I had assumed Developer Role just needed to be provisioned to my Employee User regardless of method, but typically in other accounts I had setup successfully I was an Admin as well so I wasn't 100% sure
a
Usually only Admin has access to assign roles to a user.
d
agreed I am just saying this is something I noticed differently from this account setup, I am using a custom non-Admin Role to assign. but you can confirm that SDF does not "care" how the Developer Role was assigned as long as it is currently present, that should not have been a root cause here correct?
a
I think so it shouldnt be a problem. if you see this in your available roles then this shouldn't be the problem.

@Ali Syed (NS DevTools QA) is the "SuiteCloud Development Integration" used for Browser-based authentication as well as TBA options? my understanding if so is that Integration record automatically gets "installed" when the first SDF request is initiated, is all of that the case or are there some circumstances under which I need to take further manual actions during setup?
a
Your understanding is correct. The SDF Integration record should be installed automatically when the first call using a tool is made. Browser based auth uses the same integration record as when you save the tokens manually. So thats why when you generate the token from ui you should choose the SDF Integration in application drop down.
d
@Ali Syed (NS DevTools QA) thanks for the confirmation so after further troubleshooting it appears that is not occurring with this particular account. I saw I can install "SuiteCloud Development Integration" separately via a Bundle potentially but would like to figure out why the normal auto-install is not occurring 🙂 are there any other further troubleshooting tips that might be worth me looking into to determine why the Integration record is not generating here? Thanks
a
So you are doing a browser based auth, and after that when you goto generate a token in Ui, you dont see the SDF Integration? Can you try to import an object, and then try to see if the record gets created? If not let me know i will have it investigated. Might be a bug.
And when you are authenticating with browser are you using an admin role or custom role? This shouldn't matter but just to get some more info so i can investigate.
d
I have tried with standard SDF Developer Role (id: 55) and a custom "Full Access" Role they had made for me. this seems to be one big difference with this particular account was my suspicion : Normally even though not using an Administrator role (id : 3) via SDF, my Employee does typically have Administrator Role available to it
maybe I am misunderstanding your first request, but how can I try importing an Object if I am not able to do the first step of successfully authenticating? wouldn't that require an authID setup with tokens stored somewhere previously to do subsequent import command
a
Well browser based authentication should automatically take care of integration record. I thought you are not able to see the integration record in ui when generating tokens. Do you want to have a quick call where you can share your screen?
d
@Ali Syed (NS DevTools QA) yes please, if you could send me a direct message on here to coordinate a screenshare that would be great. Thanks
Update in case anyone else runs into this behavior: the "SuiteCloud Development Integration" record was actually already installed in this account but was Inactive/Blocked
