Further question - any idea how to add fixed priced tasks? Looks like the system always asks planned work in hours and calculates the estimated cost and revenue based on the hour prices. We have tasks with fixed price, let's say 250 €, regardless how many hours are spent doing the task. At the same time we want to track hours for internal profitability calculations, but for invoices they are always fixed prices.

You can override the Estimated Revenue on the Budget subtab

Thanks for the answer. Seems like we don't have this feature. Budget subtab is missing and in SuiteAnswers we have this note: "This feature is not currently available in your account. To upgrade, contact your Administrator." We try to find another way.

What's the feature you are using for Project Budgets?

I searched SuiteAnswers for a while and found this "Job Costing and Project Budgeting". I think that is required, because we don't have the budget subtab in project at all.

Hmmm.. I'm curious how are you calculating Profitability without Job Costing? How is cost calculated?

These licenses are included. We are not live yet, right now configuring and looking best ways to do the project management. Costs are only hours and those will show up in the Project Profitability report immediately.

Have you tried creating custom fields and use that field on the Project Profitability?

yeah i would try a custom field on the Task for your fixed price, and then add that field to your project profitability reports.. it might not be super "clean" since that additional feature is really what's intended to be used for comparing budget to actuals, but i've done that before on a project-level for clients who don't have the budgeting feature
