is anyone familiar with how I can mass create planned standard costs? It seems like it is unavailable via csv import, and celigo integrator.io data loader... I'm thinking custom record + script at this point.. any ideas?
r
Import to the item-location sublist in the Std Cost field then run through the process using Item Defined cost types You can also import Inventory Cost Revaluation records.
n
Item -> Inventory Item (Import) -> Item - Locations -> Item - Locations 1 -> Standard Cost
is that what you are referring to?
r
Sounds right.
That field is utilized for initial uploads for go lives and for if Controllers want to define their own costs for comparison in cost accounting
s
when you have things aligned, like router n bom system creates planned standard cost record for you. you need to upload the standard cost in the raw material.
n
so I ended up doing a custom record + script to create all the planned standard costs
the record was not available through the data loader of celigo either
and boom worked like a charm

I'm not sure why this was necessary. You could achieved this via native functionality by importing the values via CSV then following the Stnd Cost Roll-up Process
Additionally Inventory Valuation records themselves are importable via CSV. These are the actual records generated by the roll-up process and for costing transactions.

I would love to see a demo for this

While the csv load portion is correct, this process is different from planned standard cost against a inventory item per location and planned standard cost roll up for an assembly item.

Eric makes a great point here, I wasn't specific enough in my descriptions previously: This field is updated for your inventory items only, any non-inventory/service/other charge items utilize the header level purchase price field for their standard cost... When you execute the standard costing process, it will roll the costs up through your BOMs to give your assembly items the proper cost.
