Is it possible to have NetSuite auto create my sub assembly work orders (not using Phantom boms) when I mass create work orders?  Right now if I use the mass create screen I have to come back to it and continually mass create until all my sub assembly item WOs have been built.

Have you explored a workflow to do this at all?

something along the lines of context being mass create work order, on create, set field value

the set field value would be the checkbox to create WO for sub assembly

If you want to do not chceck stock availability, you can make this sub assemblies special items. After creating main WO system will create WO's for subassemblies and you will see relationship between them.

Thanks <@UFP9HQFJ6> How many levels will that go down? If I have 3 levels of sub assemblies, will creating the finished good generate all 3 of the sub assembly work orders?

YEs, you just need to check the as a Special Work order item on Item record.
