Is there any way to export indented BOMs? That would be nice, but as an alternative the 'Print BOM' button from a work order would be great but it doesn't print the components. Is it necessary to customize that?

One way is using the Transactions > Manufacturing > Bill of Materials Inquiry Enter the Top Level Assembly item on the Assembly field and once the page has loaded, it will provide you with the list of the items and components of the subassemblies that it is associated with. To export to excel, click the Print Button. On the popup window you'll see an Excel button to download the file. Hope that helps. (SuiteAnswers 28168)

@Roy L - thank you! We do use that but it doesn't export in the indented format. I contacted support, the functionality to print in that format is listed as an enhancement so no way to do that as of now.

Can you use the "Level" column in the excel file? When it's downloaded, it creates a new column called "level" that you can key off of. A little excel-fu could help condition the data so it is easier to read.

We have done that too, the owner wants a quick click and save method and doesn't want to mess around with Excel (though he knows how to). Seems like reasonable request - just not possible.
