Anyone have to deal with a workflow field saying "That record does not exist" when trying to make changes?  I created a field and had it set to inactive and not I can't turn it off or even delete it

Is this inactive field a WF field or the actual record? Probably will have to make things active' so you can then select them to delete them.

it's a WF field. I created it in an inactive state and then went to active it and it just says record doesn't exist and says the same thing if I try to delete.

Yep. I just did this in my dev account. Same result. I’m just playing with some ideas now. 

Ok, tricky, but here is a process that works.  Edit the workflow and view the fields at the bottom. Tick to Show Inactive. On the line with your problematic field, untick the box. Save your Workflow. Your WF field is now active and can be deleted.
