I need a report that will show me a count of individual skus on hand on a month to month basis (for the last 60 months is what I've been asked to do). Any ideas on an existing report I could use and customize or have a saved search that does this? I could use inventory valuation and count the sku's but i really don't want to sit here all day running it 60 times...

You don’t need to do it 60 times you can use date range and monthly or periodly should divide it up per month

Then I still have to count the sku's. i don't care what's on hand, i just need number of sku's that had inventory on hand. the valuation seems like a clumsy way to do that?
I think saying 'Inventory Valuation' muddied up my question. I need a count of sku's with quantities on hand on a monthly basis.

Hmm I am sure there is SQL guru on here who can advise you on how to go about, having said that have you looked at SA 27113? I think it might be a good starting point for you.

I'll check it out, thanks!
s
Sure, no

I don't think you can answer this question dynamically.
Seems to me like inventory valuation would be the required method for that.
Though if you find a way, I'd be excited to hear it.

Other than running the inventory valuation for each month and putting it in Excel to count the rows, I haven't come up with anything. If I do I'll be sure to let you know!
k
Maybe you could do an inventory valuation with multiple columns and alternate date ranges?

Then at least you could do it for a few months at a time and do a formula at the bottom to count results instead of doing it manually 60 times, it's manually 20 or 30 times

Yeah SA 27113 talks about that
It’s better than doing monthly

When I'm suggesting things - I very rarely open SA! haha

You are the SA , kokSA , I need SA support

Yep, started down that road but - 60 months worth, ugh. i showed my boss what was involved and he told me to forget it. gotta love requests for data that aren't necessary. still seems like there should be a better way.
