Almost certainly a bug, but I would try a couple of other tweaks that can affect the sql run the backend. Sometimes there's a workaround. For example, use Expressions and put the Rep=XYZ in parentheses. Try making the Sales Rep an available filter on the search and not part of the formal search definition. Etc.
