SCA tip of the day: If you're linking to search results a lot to give you a quick list of products for something like email or social media and you're having trouble dialing in the results to exactly what you need, the search URL parameters can be appended to commerce category URLs to only search within that category.
For instance, say your company has a new backpack that they're launching and you're doing a big marketing campaign to promote these new backpacks, but if you link to a whole site search for the word "backpack" like this, you get a bunch of old results:
https://www.mysite.com/search?keywords=backpack
You could try to use facets to filter out and drill down to exactly what you're looking for, but that can result in a long, ugly URL and a page with a lot of unnecessary facet filtering.
However, if you have a "New" commerce category that those appear in, along with other items, you can search ONLY within that category by doing this:
https://www.mysite.com/Category-New?keywords=backpack
You can also add any of your facet and or sort parameters if you're still not getting the results you need to drill down further:
https://www.mysite.com/Category-New?keywords=backpack&color=black&order=displayname:asc
Just something I figured out recently that I thought you fine folks might find helpful. Carry on...
