What is the process for reworking a serialized assembly item? Do I have to unbuild it and then build it again with the additional rework materials and other costs?
b
That is what I would do.

Thanks.

I'm also interested in this and the GL impacts - does the Unbuild transaction back-date to the original build date, or can it be current dated?
b
No, they are completely separate. The unbuild GL hits on the current date (or a date in an open period)

Thanks. The thing is that the cost of the original components may change when it gets rebuilt again because the location-specific average cost may have changed compared to the original build.
b
Yes it would have. And that would be correct because it is average costing.
the rebuild would be a separate work order in the current period as well.

But in the real world I didn’t actually unbuild. I only have to do it because that is the NS process. In reality, the cost of the original components doesn’t change just because I rework it. But I guess I’m stuck with it anyway
