Is there a global setting to indicate that emails should include a PDF attachment as the default for including transactions, or is it only in the User Preferences?
t
Sadly believe that is user pref only.
a
That's what I thought, just making sure I wasn't missing something absentmindedly. Thanks!
So basically can be set at User, Customer, or Transaction level only.
k
I normally default a few preferences on all the roles
this is one of them.
a
per-role or per-user?
in the past i've definitely just done this as part of an onboarding process w/ new users - i suggested that to the client and that's what they're going to do, i think
other stuff in prefs they should be looking at and considering anyway, and just good training to know what can be changed in there
k
per role
when creating the role you can define the default preferences.
User can still override it - but at least you don't have to tell every user to go set them.
a
dang i gotta check that out
man - i forgot about this but also never really considered setting it here - this is good stuff, thanks @KevinJ of Kansas
k
Drop down search uses key words, this setting... there's also another I normally set...
sometimes use classic interface.
but there's another that I almost always set for them that I just can't remember.
It'll come to me later.
a
maybe show internal IDs, number of Rows in list segments / maximum entries in dropdowns
i also tend to prefer show list when only one result
k
I don't do those by role.
Show list is a personal preference - internal IDs is a personal preference.
Rows in list segments/maximum entries in drop downs I use the general preferences page to default and then let users override if they want.
Popup search uses key words.
n
I prefer users untick “Show list when one result”
a
i'm not really sure why but i've just never liked it
just personal preference i guess
