What's the use case?

Trying to keep track of Users for some proprietary software. Usually only one contact per company has a login, so that's why we landed on the contact records. They didn't like the idea of just creating a Custom Record types and making Contact records Parents to the "User Record".

I'd never use sub customers for that.
I'd probably just create a standalone custom record unless you gave me a very compelling case not to.

I don't think it's a good idea. I don't want contacts assigned to the Subcustomer records
I'll push for the Custom record Type.

I wouldn't really link the custom record to a contact though.
Unless there was some major benefit I'm not seeing.
