We are implementing Bins in Netsuite, are there any disadvantages of defining an entire building as 4 or 5 bins until our organization is prepared to implement it as 500 bins? We would just simply do a series of bin-transfers from the superbin to the bins when we are finally prepared for 500 bins, correct?

As long as you’re not using Bins to actually direct staff to picking locations, it should be fine. The bin transfer transaction will work once you have your 500 bins setup and organized

Appreciate the feedback…our controller and sysadmin seem to be under a different impression for reasons I’m not clear on so I was just making sure Netsuite wasn’t the problem. Thanks!

I mean, Bins are not the master record of inventory quantities and value On Hand. The item record itself paired with Locations are typically how that is accounted. Said another way: Bin movements don’t typically have GL impacts.
