How in the world can I run a saved search on invoiced sales or credits that includes COGS? COGS is on fulfillments...sometimes. With dropships, COGS is on the vendor bill. This is frustrating.

I can report on Sales & COGS from the GL, but I need to group/filter by different attributes like customer, sales rep, vendor, brand. If I make all of these GL segments, would that help?

Y s if you make them custom segments you can do this with a customized income statement
But also you can use the applying transaction fields and try to join to everything from the sales order

Thanks! Yes, I've been trying for 2 days to use applying transaction fields but I can't get the numbers to match a basic sales report. I'll explore segments, it seems that may be a lot more work up front but easier analytics in the future.

Just a side note with segments. If you make them GL impacting you can’t update historical transactions if the periods are closed

So if you want to go back and update all of 2025 for a full year reporting then you’d have to reopen all 2025 periods to add the segments onto past transactions

COGS tracking across different fulfillment types is super frustrating. For drop ships, you'll need to join to the vendor bill via the "Created From" relationship to get COGS data. For regular fulfillments, join to item fulfillment records. Try using Transaction Line search with both fulfillment and bill joins, then use formula fields to pick up COGS from whichever source exists. Not elegant but gets the job done.
