Hello, I have been having extremely slow activation times in production since last night around 10pm CST. I have an activation that has been running since 8am CST, the progress keeps moving but it’s taking 45-1hour to activate..

The simple answer is that there is something else consuming the resources that the activation script would use, and it's yielding for those scripts. For example, does your account have other map/reduce scripts running?
If so, you can either wait for those to finish and activate your script afterwards; pause those scripts, complete your activation and then restart them; raise the priority level of the activation script; or buy more SuiteCloud processors

Do you know the name of that script?

Customization > Script > Priority Settings. And it's several scripts starting with SC ExtMech. You should read the documentation on script priorities first, and make sure that you're not going to mess up scripts that run concurrently

Fair. My other suggestion would be to raise a case and see if they can help, but I don't know what advice they will give

For sure, that’s probably a better choice. The sluggish activations are intermittent, so we shall see.
