if i update suitecommerce 2019.2.2 (because there is a bundle update available), is that going to cause an issue on my site?

you can only manually update suitecommerce on your sandbox account. For your production account you need to wait for the date your push is scheduled for.

How do i know when my push is scheduled for?
Because I have an issue with quotes on the site and netsuite support is saying that in 2019.2.4 that issue is fixed.

Please check with account administrator, he/she should have received an email with their upgrade date
