Anyone have a trick for a saved search to show any item that is pending bin putaway (I've tried several variations but no luck displaying accurate data)? We have 40+ locations so checking each location in the bin putaway transaction screen is not effective.
a
just for my own context, bin put away is after consumption or receiving in orrrr?
t
Bin putaway is when the inventory detail hasn't been selected on a Item Receipt when that item is using bins.
a
isn't that a mandatory field upon receipt normally?
t
No.
Surprisingly not.
a
I would change that form then lol
a
so maybe a saved search for transactions, type item receipt and bin is empty?
WOOF thats a lot of data for a saved search lol
t
Well what ends up happening is that you have a location/ bin mismatch. Location will show the receipt, the bins wont as no bins were chosen.

We utilize not selecting a BIN during receipt to help drive process - receive product, then place it in a put away area where another team member physically puts the product into the BIN and performs the BIN putaway at that time. The challenge is creating a report to show all product BIN putaway so nothing is missed, and with having so many locations you can't simply use the native BIN putaway screen to see what is pending.
t
Can they just receive into a default receiving bin and do the bin putaway from there? It's a lot easier to make a saved search for items in a default receiving bin an item that should be in the bin putaway worksheet.

May be a potential workaround if I can't figure out a saved search for this. Was trying to use the native functionality - but if not this coupled with a saved search to look at that dedicated BIN would serve the same purpose. The only real difference is the transaction would be a BIN transfer instead of putaway.
t
Sorry, I was thinking in our WMS terminology. Bin Putaway in our WMS is default receiving bin to preferred bin/ alternate bin. Have you tried this search? https://suiteanswers.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/87656/loc/en_US The only thing with these types of searches is there is more than 1 way to cause a location/bin mismatch
a
when I use to work in Shipping department everything would get received into bin SR and then put away from there.
j
doesn't the bin putaway worksheet show this detail?
a
Yes, per location. We have 40+ locations.
t
Yah, but OP said native bin putaway worksheet isn't working for their needs.
j
oh sorry, I cannot read

At this point, I think we're just going to go the route of a dedicated bin per location (same name) with a saved search looking at that bin across all locations, then a bin transfer to replicate the bin putaway transaction/process.
i
you could do something with location on hand vs sum of bin on hand, this should help show which items are not in a bin, not 100% but i think it's along the lines of what you are looking for
