Pretty set on going with RF-Smart, can I get some feedback from ppl who use it? Pros? Cons? Headaches?
c
We have RF-Smart, i'm not super familiar with it, but i do know we only really use it for Bin Counts, Bin transfers, and setting/changing default bins on items. It works well for those functions I don't know that we're getting our money's worth out of it. We have a few cheap amazon scanners we use with it, but most users will login to the client site from their computer. I've been wondering if we can just make a mobile friendly suitelet with these features to replace rf-smart.
Support is good. Their pricing for scanners seemed competitive until they try to sell you thousands of dollars of warranty, configuration, etc.

I've implemented RF-Smart in two different warehouses so DM me if you have any questions.

@Tim Chapman the company I work for is still on pen and paper for EVERYTHING for the most part. LOTS of hand entering data...WO's,Transfers from building to building etc
t
@Adam Weaver Both companies I've implemented RF-Smart for were doing manual processes like this - you'll see a huge improvement.
a
I hope so. I feel like the people touching the inventory and doing the work should be doing all the data entry, is that crazy to think? lol
t
Yes, absolutely.

And to be completely honest - Yes, there is some setup involved such as creating barcode and bin labels (assuming you need it for picking/inventory) but there hasn't been any headaches that the RF-Smart team hasn't been able to fix for us. Especially if you are clear from the get go what your requirements are.
a
now THAT is what I wanted to hear
we are implementing WIP and Routing and then barcoding everything is the next step
now when you say creating the barcode and bin labels I can pretty much export an excel sheet and change them to barcode?
t
Yah if you use a software such as nicelabel.
You get a 30 day free trial.
Also if you'll be doing label printing through RF-Smart you can design labels in NiceLabel - upload them to NetSuite- and print those barcodes through RF-Smart print service.

I exported a spreadsheet and was able to pull dynamic fields into DYMO Connect and was easy enough but the spreadsheet is setup wonky.Do you have any idea how to serpate the columns with commas to rows ?
t
Seems something ChatGPT would be good at.
a
trust me I tried lol. ClaudeAI got me what I wanted but wouldn't spit out an excel file only a TSX file which is the script it used to do the work
tried to paste that into the excel sheet and it blew it to shit lol
was hoping maybe something in the actual report options in NS would be able to do it
