We filed a support ticket and it has been logged as an enhancement (I think it’s more of a defect). In SDF if you use custom records with “USE PERMISSION LIST” as your way to configure permissions, there is no way to preserve custom record permissions that the user then adds to their own roles. Example, you deploy a role with the custom record permission but your customer has their own role they would like to use, so they add the custom record permission to their role. If you then make any sort of update to that custom record, it will remove the customer’s permission to that custom record and set it back to only the custom role you originally deployed. We didn’t run into this issue with the bundler, so if anybody has another solution, please share or please upvote our enhancement on suiteideas.
