First decent Architecture/design change in the last 20 years, bye bye Bridges, Buses...

Not sure if it is applicable here... I read somewhere online, all first gen Apple products should be avoided since they make significant leap of improvements in the very next year or two..the user was giving example of iPad 2 or 3-don't remember.. How true would it be for the M1 chip products?
