If you could have a SuiteApp that does anything, what would it be? I'm putting together a priority list for what SuiteApps to build first when we get our SDN partnership.
m
Are you able to join SDN? I heard it is very exclusive
k
I'm working on the application for it now, but I've worked for SDN partners before
Application submitted. fingers crossed
m
Oh isee...good luck.. Let me know how it goes for you

A better warranty and repairs module

That's a good one. I've found it confusing to navigate at first.
Similarly, WMS, I don't think I've ever met a NetSuite customer who was happy with NetSuite's solution.

These are all somewhat niche and there are other players that already are in the space for these, so it might be hard to get people to use them in NS, but NS is mediocre to bad at: 1. Commissions 2. Contract Management (is that bundle still around? it was/is real bad) 3. Case Management 4. CRM

Actually nvm on #2, I think SuiteBilling has already or is meant to replace that
k
Everyone I've seen do contract management has used something custom built from scratch
Case Management / CRM are painful
r
I'd probably want to do it by hand before using the old Contracts module. It's a huge pile of scripts that adds like 100 custom fields and kills your performance everywhere.
k
ouch
r
Again, if it's still around. Once I got to a place where I didn't have to deal with it, I didn't look back...ha
It's still there. Bundle 187488. If you want some pointers on what not to do, take a look at it...lol
k
Similarly licensing agreement based billing. I've done custom stuff around that but have never seen a pre-built solution
but then those are even more niche
r
I guess CRM and Case Management really aren't niche at all, but there are a lot of big players in that space, so I doubt you'd be able to pull many people.
Good luck getting Salesforce customers (or people who have used SF) to buy a bundle in NetSuite for that...heh
k
yeah SF people are practically fanatical sometimes
Case management I could do though 🙂
SF doesn't handle case management any better than NetSuite does

SF doesn't handle case management any better than NetSuite does
Having dealt with both, I very much disagree. But if you can build something that does better than both, there might be some market there

maybe the companies I've worked for were just using it wrong 😆
r
Definitely possible
k
I've done multiple Boomi integrations to dedicated ticketing systems for companies that couldn't get SF to do what they wanted
