I've seen more API Usage Errors in the past couple weeks across multiple companies, than I ever have in my career. All very very similar scenarios. Error is triggered on the getText function on a field that is set via setValue, but only on the creation of a record. Seems this used to be a viable option, but not any more.

I've experienced this before and don't believe it is new. Not sure why you are getting it now. if you set via setValue you won't be able to use getText in the same invocation

I think something has changed. Possibly with the latest update. These are third party scripts that I am fixing that previously worked fine, and no longer do.

if it is the same 3rd party scripts the change is likely on their side.
