So #C06V7S5E77Z will reference the slacks that it's primarily using. And it says that they're available only if they're <90 days old, but clearly it knows the actual slack it's referencing. Is there any way to use that link it generates to find those particular slacks in the slack archive on the website? I don't have a particularly pressing need at the moment, but often find that on tricky questions #C06V7S5E77Z knows what I'm talking about, but will not have a satisfactory answer for me, and I want to go look at the original responses by real humans to understand the places I should start looking that will eventually (after a lot of work on my own) lead me to a workable solution. Thus far when I need to take this tack, I've just been trying to search keywords in the archive, but it'd be real nice to be able to be able to jump right to those slacks as a starting place.

Thanks James. We’ve looked into this. We don’t have a way to do this currently as the service we are using for the archive site doesn’t have an api available and doesn’t reference the slack id at all. We could possibly return the channel name and timestamp (if > 90 days ago) to help make the searching in archive site easier until they build api capabilities. Will defer to @Youssef Zouhairi , he’s the brains!

@James Morris, As Kyle mentioned above. Unfortunately, there is no way to pull the information from the archiving service for now. We will keep explore the options we have and if we find a way to bring back the conversations that are over 90 days old, we will definitely include the access to them.

Having the channel name/timestamp would be awesome if that’s feasible. I am more than happy to find the slacks manually in the archive if I can connect the dots myself. Regardless, thanks so much for checking into this! Stanley-AI is a great service and super helpful for the community as a whole, so lots of kudos to you all!

Not sure if this is the appropriate place or thread to discuss this. I love the Slack archive! When searching for a query, for a given message, is very easy to follow the topic if the people replied to message in the thread. However, sometimes people reply on the channel vs replying on the thread. So when you try to click on the message, before it used to take you that message in the channel, so you could see the subsequent messages. However, when I do that now, it does takes me simply to the channel in the archive, showing me the latest messages, thus unable to see if there was replies to that message in the channel instead of the thread. I believe before it was not the case, but perhaps I was doing something differently. So just wondering what are the possibilities for those cases. Either way, thanks for all the work 🙂

hey @Roc127 Glad you enjoy the archive site. I think I'm following you're issue. I'll check with the developer to see if there were any changes recently that could have caused this behavior. Thank you!
